American Electric Power is always searching for ways to keep the power on. In this video series I worked with he creative team at Tell Collective to get 3 videos explaining how these new technologies help bring power to to their customers when power is knocked out. I will always remember this project because I was in the process of finalizing all three video while we welcomed our son.

Smart Grid is the overview video for the two new technologies that AEP Ohio created to quickly get power back on in the event of an outage and updating systems to more efficiently deliver power while reducing energy loss.

DACR us a new technology that reroutes power in the event of an outage. As a result, outages are fixed faster, restoring power.

Updating technology and creating a new way to deliver power to people who are in need is something AEP Ohio is strives for. Creating a new technologies to maximize energy while minimizing energy loss.
Lost style frames.
Different approaches for the design of the substation. Going from a very abstracted to a more literal approach. With the abstracted approach I wanted to have the “bolt” in the center of the frame spin and push out the dots signafying dots being distributed through out the electrical system.
